Choker care and safety

Important Safety Information for Wearing Chokers

Please wear chokers responsibly. These accessories must only be worn by individuals who can remove them quickly and independently in case of an emergency. If you or someone else may have difficulty removing a choker without help—regardless of age or health condition—it is strongly advised not to wear one. Safety always comes first.

Key Safety Points:

  • Choking Hazard: Most chokers include small parts that could pose a choking risk. Keep them away from children and pets at all times.

  • Material Care: Metal components may oxidise or rust if exposed to moisture. Pleather or leather dyes can bleed if wet or sweaty, possibly staining skin or clothes. Keep your choker dry whenever possible.

  • Allergy Warning: Since my chokers are upcycled, the exact materials and dyes are not always known. Wearing is at your own risk, and allergic reactions, though rare, are possible.

  • Pointed Charms: Some charms feature pointed designs. They are decorative only, but should be handled carefully to avoid injury.

  • Proper Fit: Make sure you can comfortably fit 1-2 fingers between your neck and the choker. Most chokers measure 16–17 inches (about 43cm). If unsure, measure your neck and contact me via Facebook or Instagram before purchasing. I can customise the fit by replacing factory fastenings with adjustable chains for a better fit (customisation may incur a small additional cost). Custom leather chokers can be made to your exact size.
